pharmachologic effect

Travatan helps to reduce intraocular pressure by increasing the outflow of intraocular fluid.

Indications for use

Increased intraocular pressure, as well as in the complex therapy of open-angle glaucoma.

Method of administration and dosage

Designed for instillation into the conjunctival sac. The maximum therapeutic effect is achieved when applied in the evening. Adults are   advised to prescribe 1 drop of the drug per day. If a dose is missed, the drug is continued with the next scheduled dose.

Side effects

Redness of the eye, conjunctiva or sclera (does not require discontinuation of the drug).

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Travatan is not prescribed for pregnant women, as well as for women during lactation. The drug is not used in pediatrics. Caution should be exercised when prescribing Travatan to patients at risk of developing macular edema, acute iritis or uveitis. 

Overdose

At the moment, there have been no reports of drug overdose.
