pharmachologic effect

Suppresses fibrinolysis ; has a hemostatic effect. It is quickly excreted from the body (4 hours). 

Indications for use

Bleeding during surgical interventions on the parenchymal organs, heart and blood vessels, in the ear, throat, nose; diseases of internal organs with hemorrhagic syndrome; premature placental abruption, complicated abortion; acute pancreatitis; prevention of the development of secondary hyperfibrinogenemia with massive transfusions of canned blood.

Method of administration and dosage

5 % p – p in an amount of no more than 100 ml intravenous drip at a rate of 50-60 drops per minute (within 15-30 minutes).  

Within 1 – th hour is recommended to introduce 5.4 g, then if necessary, – 1 g each hour during the 8 h or until complete hemostasis. If bleeding continues, injections are repeated every 4 hours.     

Inside – at the rate of 100 mg / kg of body weight with an interval of 4 hours. The daily dose is 10-15 g.     

Side effects

Dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, skin rash, headache, orthostatic hypotension, convulsions are possible.

Contraindications

Thrombosis and thromboembolism, coagulopathy due ICE – syndrome, kidney disease, pregnancy, hypersensitivity to aminocaproic acid, cerebrovascular disease, hematuria, severe coronary artery disease.

Overdose

If an overdose of aminocaproic acid occurs, then side effects increase, fibrinolysis is sharply suppressed , and blood clots may form. It is necessary to immediately enter plasminogen activators ( Urokinase , Streptokinase , Anistreptase ).
