pharmachologic effect
Vasodilator. It has a myotropic antispasmodic effect, reduces the tone of arterioles and reduces the total peripheral vascular resistance. Improves blood flow to peripheral tissues.
Indications for use
Peripheral circulatory disorders, diabetic angiopathy, Raynaud’s disease and syndrome , acrocyanosis , pain in the extremities at rest, paresthesia, cerebral atherosclerosis, presenile disorders, ischemic stroke, recovery period after a stroke, consequences of a craniocerebral ‑injury, Meniere’s disease , ischemic retinal lesions, violation of the blood supply to the inner ear.
Dosage and administration
In the treatment of peripheral circulatory disorders, adults are prescribed orally 100-200 mg 3 times a day. The course of treatment is at least 3 months. In the treatment of dementia and cerebrovascular disorders , 100 mg 3 times a day are prescribed , for stroke – 200 mg of the drug 3 times a day or 300-400 mg 2 times a day.
Side effects
Insomnia, skin rash, anxiety, dizziness, fatigue, headache, decreased blood pressure, orthostatic collapse, cardiac arrhythmias, hepatitis, when administered in high doses – ventricular tachycardia and convulsions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to naftidrofuryl , acute myocardial infarction, severe heart failure, impaired neuromuscular transmission, severe coronary insufficiency, bleeding, history of collapse, severe arterial hypotension, orthostatic reactions, impaired liver and kidney function, pregnancy and lactation.
Overdose
It is manifested by disorientation, convulsions, slowing of intracardiac conduction, tachyarrhythmia, and a decrease in blood pressure. Cardiomonitoring and the appointment of antiarrhythmic drugs are shown, diazepam is used when seizures occur .
