pharmachologic effect
It has an expectorant effect. It has anti-inflammatory activity even in the presence of purulent sputum in the respiratory tract.
Indications for use
Acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by increased viscosity of sputum with the addition of purulent infection, otitis media, rhinitis, sinusitis; prevention of complications during operations on the respiratory organs; infectious – allergic AD, complicated by bacterial bronchitis or suppuration bronchiectasis .
Dosage and administration
Adults and children over 14 years of age: 0.2 g of the drug 3 times a day or 0.6 g 1 time per day after meals. An effervescent tablet is dissolved in 0.5 cups of water and taken before meals, preferably in the evening. The mucolytic effect is enhanced with increased fluid intake.
Side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, inflammation of the oral mucosa (stomatitis), headache, tinnitus, itching, urticaria, skin rashes, bronchospasm, tachycardia and hypotension.
Contraindications
Individual hypersensitivity, AD without thickening of sputum, peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum in the acute stage; hemoptysis, pulmonary hemorrhage; diseases of the liver, kidneys, adrenal glands; period of pregnancy and lactation, age up to 6 years.
Overdose
Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are very rare. For infants, there is a risk of hypersecretion.
Treatment. Symptomatic
