pharmachologic effect

It has an anabolic effect in violation of protein metabolism with a deficiency of orotic acid.

Indications for use

Diseases of the liver and biliary tract caused by intoxication, except for cirrhosis with ascites; myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure, heart rhythm disturbances; dermatoses, alimentary and alimentary – infectious malnutrition in children, etc.

Method of administration and dosage

Adults   inside (1 hour before meals or 4 hours after meals) 0.25-0.5 g 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 20-40 days, if necessary, repeat after a month. Children   are given at the rate of 10-20 mg / kg per day in 2-3 doses.     

Side effects

The drug is usually well tolerated. In some cases, allergic and dyspeptic symptoms are possible, which quickly disappear when the drug is discontinued. When used in high doses against the background of a low-protein diet, fatty degeneration of the liver may develop. Development of hyperkalemia is possible .

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to drug components; cirrhosis of the liver with ascites; acute and severe chronic renal failure; lymphogranulomatosis; malignant diseases of the hematopoietic organs; hyperkalemia .
