pharmachologic effect

It has an antitussive, bronchodilator and bronchoseptic effect.

Indications for use

Combined therapy of respiratory system diseases accompanied by dry unproductive cough (acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, bronchiectasis ).

Dosage and administration

Children 3-10 years: 1 scoop of syrup (5 ml) 3 times a day; over 10 years: 2 scoops of syrup (10 ml) 3 times a day; adults: 2 scoops of syrup (10 ml) 3-4 times a day. The maximum duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.   

Side effects

Tachycardia, extrasystole, hypertension; tremor, agitation, insomnia, dizziness; nausea, vomiting, anorexia, constipation, allergic reactions. In children, ephedrine can cause drowsiness.

Contraindications

Age 3 years, I trimester of pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to the drug, hyperthyroidism and cardio – vascular diseases, accompanied tachyarrhythmia and coronary artery disease, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy with urinary retention, insomnia.

Overdose

Symptoms Nausea, vomiting, anorexia, nervous agitation, circulatory disturbances, tremor of the extremities, dizziness, sweating, urination disorders.

In this case, you should rinse the stomach, take activated charcoal, symptomatic treatment is further indicated.
