pharmachologic effect
Cinnarizine can additionally improve insufficient microcirculation by increasing the ability of red blood cells to deform and reducing blood viscosity.
When it is taken, cellular resistance to hypoxia increases. With the help of Cinnarizine, it is possible to prevent or reduce the severity of acute attacks of dizziness.
Indications for use
Supportive care for symptoms of labyrinth disorders, including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, and nystagmus; prevention of motion sickness; migraine prevention; maintenance therapy for symptoms of cerebrovascular origin, including dizziness, tinnitus ( tinnitus ), vascular headache, irritability, memory impairment and inability to concentrate; maintenance therapy for peripheral vascular disorders, including Raynaud’s disease , acrocyanosis , intermittent claudication, trophic disorders and varicose ulcers, paresthesia, nocturnal muscle cramps in the lower extremities, sensation of coldness in the extremities.
Dosage and administration
Adults and children over the age of 12.
Violation of cerebral circulation: 1 tablet 25 mg 3 times a day (75 mg per day).
Violation of peripheral circulation: 2-3 tablets of 25 mg 3 times a day (150-225 mg per day).
Imbalance: 1 tablet 25 mg 3 times a day (75 mg per day).
Motion sickness: 1 tablet 25 mg 30 minutes before travel, may be repeated every 6 hours.
Children. For children aged 5–12 years, half the adult dose is recommended. Elderly patients. No data.
The maximum recommended daily dose should not exceed 225 mg (9 tablets).
Side effects
Symptoms such as drowsiness and gastrointestinal disturbances may occur. They can be avoided by gradually reaching the optimal dose. Occasionally, headache, dry mouth, hypersensitivity (allergic reactions) and cholestatic jaundice may occur.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, the period of pregnancy and lactation, children under 5 years of age.
Overdose
Symptoms. In rare cases of acute overdose (90-2250 mg), the following manifestations were noted: a change in consciousness from drowsiness to stupor and coma, vomiting, extrapyramidal symptoms, arterial hypotension. A small number of children were diagnosed with seizures.
Treatment. There is no specific antidote. During the first hour after ingestion, it is necessary to wash the stomach. According to indications, activated charcoal can be prescribed.
