Antispasmodic. Reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of internal organs and intestinal locomotor activity, dilates blood vessels.
Indications for use
Abdominal pain caused by spasms of smooth muscles of internal organs: chronic gastroduodenitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, cholelithiasis and urolithiasis, chronic cholecystitis, postcholecystectomy syndrome, hypermotor biliary dyskinesia, spastic intestinal dyskinesia due to gas retention, intestinal count , proctitis, flatulence, pyelitis, headache due to spasm of cerebral vessels, spasm of coronary and peripheral arteries; if necessary, weakening of uterine contractions, to eliminate cervical spasm during childbirth, with smooth muscle spasm during instrumental interventions.
Dosage and administration
Tablets. Adults are prescribed 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day. The duration of admission is determined by the doctor. Due to the fact that there is no reliable data on the use of the drug in children, it is used exclusively for its intended purpose and under the supervision of a doctor. Children in the age 1-6 years appoint 0,5 tablets 1-2 times a day; 6-12 years old – 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, older than 12 years – 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day. Children before use, the tablet should be crushed and mixed with a small amount of water.
Solution for injection . Assign to adults usually IM 2-4 ml (40-80 mg) 1-3 times a day. To stop an attack of hepatic or renal colic, it is recommended to enter iv in slowly. In cases of peripheral circulatory disorders, you can enter intraarterially (hereinafter – in / a) slowly. For children over the age of 12 years, the drug is prescribed IM 1-2 ml (20-40 mg) 1-3 times a day.
Suppositories . Doses for adults and children – 1 suppository 2 times a day.
Side effects
Arrhythmia, decreased blood pressure, palpitations, allergic dermatitis, constipation, sweating, sensation of heat. In case of side effects or other reactions, the drug should be discontinued.
Contraindications
Severe hepatic, renal and heart failure, AV – blockade of the II – III degree, cardiogenic shock, age up to 1 year, severe hypotension, hypersensitivity to the drug.
Overdose
In case of an overdose, the following are possible: AV – blockade, cardiac arrest, respiratory center paralysis. It is necessary to maintain the function of vital organs, carrying out symptomatic therapy.
