Stimulates erythropoiesis, has a pronounced effect in anemia caused by chronic kidney disease. It leads to an increase in hematocrit and hemoglobin levels in the blood, improved blood supply to tissues and heart function.
Indications for use
Anemias associated with chronic renal failure.
Method of administration and dosage
Correction phase – the initial dose is 50 U / kg of body weight 3 times a week. If necessary, after 1 month, the dose can be increased to 75 U / kg 3 times a week; in the future, the dose can be increased by 25 U / kg with an interval of 1 month; maintenance phase – the dose is selected individually for each patient. Usually prescribed in a dose of 30-100 U / kg 3 times a week after dialysis. The maximum dose should not exceed 200 U / kg 3 times a week. Enter s / c or i / v. Duration of intravenous injection is 1-2 minutes.
Side effects
Possible increase in blood pressure, worsening of the course of hypertension, headache, disorientation, generalized tonic – clonic seizures, thrombocytosis, increased risk of thrombotic complications.
Contraindications
Uncontrolled hypertension.
