pharmachologic effect

Antiulcer agent, inhibits the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

The antisecretory effect develops within 1 hour after ingestion at a dose of 20 mg.  

Indications for use

Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum; gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger -Ellison syndrome , functional dyspepsia; chronic gastritis with increased acid-forming function of the stomach in the acute stage; in the presence of Helicobacter pylori   in eradication therapy regimens.  

Method of administration and dosage

Adults take the tablets by mouth before meals, without chewing.

For peptic ulcers of the stomach and duodenum   (in the absence of Helicobacter pylori ), a dose of 20-40 mg is prescribed once a day in the morning or in the evening. It is possible to take the drug in a dose of 10 mg 2 times a day. Duration of treatment – 2-4 weeks in case of localization of the ulcer in the duodenum, 2-6 weeks in case of localization of the ulcer in the stomach.     

In gastroesophageal reflux disease   , 20 mg of the drug is prescribed 2 times a day for 4–8 weeks. The maintenance dose is 10–20 mg per day for up to 1 year. The dose is determined individually.    

In case of Helicobacter pylori infection   (in combination with antibacterial agents), it is prescribed at a dose of 20 mg 2 times a day, for example, in combination with Clarithromycin (500 mg 2 times a day) and Amoxicillin (1000 mg 2 times a day) for 7 weeks.    

In chronic gastritis   with increased acid-forming function in the acute stage – 20 mg 1-2 times a day for 2-3 weeks.  

Side effects

Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, flatulence, constipation, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, itching, irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, back pain, fever.


Increased individual sensitivity to drug components; During pregnancy and breastfeeding.


In case of symptoms of an overdose (headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, increased sweating) and / or at least one of the side effects, symptomatic and supportive therapy is indicated. No specific antidote has been identified. Dialysis is ineffective.
