pharmachologic effect
Recombinant antihemophilic factor. Increases the activity of coagulation factor VIII in plasma, has the ability to temporarily correct the corresponding coagulation disorders.
Indications for use
Treatment and prevention of bleeding in patients with hemophilia A, including during emergency or elective surgery.
ReFacto AF does not contain von Willebrand factor at a therapeutic concentration and is therefore not indicated for the treatment of von Willebrand disease .
Method of administration and dosage
Treatment should be initiated under the supervision of a physician experienced in the treatment of hemophilia A.
The required dose is calculated using the following formula:
Units required (IU) = body weight ( kg) × desired increase in factor VIII (%, or IU / dl ) × 0.5 (IU / kg per IU / dl ), where 0.5 IU / kg per IU / dl is the reciprocal of the gradual recovery that is usually observed after factor VIII infusion .
The dose of the drug and the frequency of use are always determined individually, focusing on the clinical efficacy of the drug.
Side effects
Headache, fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, manifestations of allergic reactions; asthenia, chills, headache, pain at the injection site, abdominal pain, catheter infection, catheter thrombosis, catheter loss, edema, fever, pain, infusion site infection .
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients, as well as in patients with hypersensitivity to hamster proteins.
