pharmachologic effect
It has a local anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, wound healing, immunomodulatory, analgesic effect.
Indications for use
External and internal hemorrhoids, erosion, cracks, microtrauma in the anus, diseases of the rectum, accompanied by severe pain, itching, burning in the anorectal region; in the postoperative period in patients undergoing proctological surgery; for anesthesia during diagnostic procedures.
Dosage and administration
The drug should be used in adults and children over 12 years of age after preliminary hygiene procedures.
Ointment . It is carefully applied through the applicator to the affected areas outside or inside the anus up to 4 times a day, especially in the evening, in the morning or after each bowel movement. Apply until the symptoms of the disease disappear.
Suppositories. Enter 1 suppository into the anus in the morning, after each bowel movement and in the evening before bedtime. Daily dose – no more than 4 times. The duration of treatment is usually 1 week. If necessary, it can be extended up to 3 weeks.
Side effects
Rarely, contact dermatitis, allergic reactions, including flushing, skin rashes, itching may occur; changes at the injection site. When using the drug, methemoglobinemia is possible.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to any of the components of the drug and other amide local anesthetics , thromboembolic disease, granulocytopenia . Do not use during pregnancy and in children under 12 years of age.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms may be related to the pharmacological effects of benzocaine .
Its systemic absorption in case of overdose can be manifested by drowsiness, anxiety, agitation, and in severe cases, convulsions.
