Indications for use

Dosage and administration
For the prevention of angina attacks, as well as for the treatment and prevention of extrasystoles , adults are prescribed orally for the first 8-14 days, 0.2 g 2-3 times a day, then they switch to maintenance treatment – 0.2 g 1-2 times a day. day. The scheme and duration of treatment are set individually. The initial daily dose for children is 8-10 mg/kg body weight for 8-14 days; then proceed to treatment with a maintenance dose.
To eliminate acute arrhythmias , 5% glucose is administered slowly in / in 250 ml at a rate of 5 mg / kg; ‑if necessary, re-introduce after 24 hours.
Side effects
Possible deposition of lipofuscin in the corneal epithelium; photosensitivity; with prolonged use in rare cases, the development of hypothyroidism is possible, much less often – hyperthyroidism when used in high doses; bradycardia, slowing of AV ‑conduction, arterial hypotension, nausea, impaired liver function; in isolated cases – peripheral neuropathy, tremor, pulmonitis, alveolitis.
Contraindications
Sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial block, AV ‑block II and III degree; severe arterial hypotension, collapse, shock, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, hypersensitivity to iodine, lactation period.
